as formigas não dormem
nem eu
meu peito
apertado de passinhos iguais
todos os dias
indo e vindo
me lembro de quando vivia feliz
no duplex do formigueiro
***
ants don't sleep
me neither
my chest
in a lathe of tiny, repeated steps
everyday
coming and going
it reminds me of the times when I lived happily
in the ant hill's penthouse

i am not all i have. i also have my own absence, the silence from outer space, and closed eyes, when eyes see they can close. besides what i am there is the possibility of not being me, which allows me certain peace, a subtle wrap-up for my thoughts, breaks of half-light under intense light or darkness. not being me makes room, puts me in contact with codes other, undecipherable, though beautifully articulated under my alienated gaze.
all i fail to be makes me imortal, endless, perennial, real.

Sinais divinos - Divine signs
A beggar approaches the empty sanctuary in fear. He shows reverence in his own way, and kneels as he expects not to speak to God, but to hear Him. A feeling overwhelms him while birds sing here and there and the noises of manking are made audible from a distance. If all was silence, God would be dumb.

***
I took my hands off my pockets slowly and rubbed the flower you gave me. To pieces. Then I smelled my palms and saw the crumbs, all so impermanent, scattered on the ground in front of me.
No tears, not a smile, but the facts.

Gaia

We were all home. And it could have been a hole in the floor but it was exactly the opposite: floor tiles bulged out there where the chandelier cast its brightest spotlight. In the beginning it was like when the floor adapts to changes or moisture in the ground. But it didn't stop there. Inside our house grew a mountain. We saw it rise little by little, though endlessly. Some of us were concerned with always having access to the top and kept adapting ladders and adding them steps. Others stared, day after day, unwilling to believe it. Others still turned their back on the mountain, but for them life in our home turned into hell. Because you cannot ignore the topography of where you live. Some moved out and some moved to the top.
